-Shenmue: A New World is up!
-Japanese games site Gamejapan.net has just revealed Japanese sales
tracking information from the period starting December 20 of last year and
ending January 2 of this year.
Over this two week period, Sega's Shenmue managed to take the top
spot, with sales of 304,781 for a total of 380,472. Observant readers will
note that Shenmue actually came out on the 29th of the year. We assume
the other 80,000-or-so units are from pre-order. Regardless, the total
sales put the game at the top of the Dreamcast sales pack, and that's after
just three days of official release.
Seaman also managed to place on the list, at position number 17, with
sales of 32,699 units, for a total of 365,867 units sold. Vivarium's wacky
virtual pet sim has consistenly placed in the top thirty charts since its
release back in July.
Finally, Sega's Space Channel 5 makes an appearance at position 30 on
the list, down from last week's figure of 13. The title sold 20,813 copies
for a total of 89,267.
